We have just retured for a week skiingstaying at Le Hameau des Airelles. We booked through Peak Retreats & drove using their flexiplus eurotunnel option. No hanging around. We drove via the Frejus tunnel ( if you book your ski passes through Mongenevre . com more than 4 days before arrival you can get a discount on the tunnel toll cost.Check in was easy. The reception was open when we arrived (1730) and we were served almost immediately by a very polite French women. We had a 2 bedroomed apartment on the ground floor overlooking the road/piste/mountains. It was perfect for a family of 4 but anymore would be a bit of a squash. We used the pool & spa a few times , the only downside was there were unsupervised children trowing snowballs at each other & into the swimming pool.(it was school holidays).There is a supermarket next door with everything you need. 3 ski hire shops within 2 minutes of the complex & a bakery. ( I believe you can get bread etc delivered to reception but we chose to get it ourselves). I had pre ordered ski passes & they were ready to collect from the main ski pass office. There is a blue run literally outside the main reception where you can ski down to two lifts taking you to either side of the valley.The skiing was great for April. We had sunny/cloudy & fresh snowy days. There is pleanty of skiing forall abilities in Mongenevre alone. (the link to Italy closed the day after we arrived). All in all a great holiday Thank you
The room was a little basic and as there was 4 of us we could have done with another toilet. Having said that we had a really good week, our room was ready on arrival and whenever we needed reception they were very helpful. The ski lockers are also basic with nowhere to hang boots or to sit to put them on, we just put our boots on upstairs. The kitchen was well stocked and we had a south facing balcony which was great at lunchtime.
Not sure if renovated apartments are available. The chairs were instable (almost felt apart), the sofa was 'done', the beds were 'done', the bathrooms was smallIf not, I suggest you look for another spot in Montgenevre.
Quiet and on the piste, good value, apartments getting a bit tired now but good value for money. We have been back year after year and enjoy the skiing in Montgenevre and Claviere and find these apartments family friendly.
Fabulous facility a stone's throw from the ski slopes !! I recommend it !! Great location between the slopes and the village !! Wonderful wellness center !! Ideal for a snow vacation. I also had dogs in tow and they had a great time !!
